Position: Housekeeping Supervisor
Location: Patna, Bihar
Duration: Fulltime

Salary In-hand: Upto 25,000/- (Monthly)

Reporting To: Housekeeping Manager

 

Position Summary:

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily housekeeping operations, ensuring guest rooms and public areas are cleaned, maintained, and presented as per hotel standards.
The role includes supervising staff, inspecting rooms, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring smooth, efficient, and hygienic housekeeping services.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Supervision & Team Management

Assign daily duties to Room Attendants and Public Area Attendants.

Conduct daily briefings and share instructions for special tasks.

Train new staff on cleaning standards, chemical usage, and safety protocols.

Monitor staff performance and ensure tasks are completed on time.

 

  1. Room & Area Inspection

Check guest rooms, washrooms, corridors, and public areas for cleanliness and quality.
Ensure rooms meet hotel standards including linen quality, amenities setup, and overall presentation.
Report maintenance issues immediately to Engineering and follow up until resolved.

  1. Inventory & Stock Control

Track usage and stock levels of linen, cleaning supplies, guest amenities, and equipment.
Request replenishment as needed and prevent misuse or wastage.
Maintain proper records for inventory and issue logs.

  1. Guest Interaction

Handle guest requests politely and ensure prompt service (e.g., extra towels, cleaning service, amenities).
Respond to guest complaints and ensure issues are resolved or escalated.
Maintain a courteous and professional attitude at all times.

  1. Coordination with Other Departments

Work closely with Front Office for room status updates, early check-ins, and late check-outs.
Coordinate with Laundry for timely linen supply and quality checks.
Inform Security of any suspicious items, lost & found, or safety concerns.

  1. Safety & Compliance

Ensure housekeeping staff follow safety guidelines, including proper chemical handling.
Check all equipment is in safe working condition.
Ensure compliance with hotel SOPs, hygiene protocols, and statutory requirements.

  1. Administrative Duties

Prepare daily reports such as occupancy status, room inspection sheets, and staff attendance.
Maintain Lost & Found records as per hotel policy.
Support the Housekeeping Manager during audits, training, and performance evaluations.


8.Required Skills & Competencies

Strong leadership and team supervision skills
Good communication skills (Hindi/English)
Eye for detail and high cleanliness standards
Knowledge of cleaning techniques and chemical usage
Ability to handle multitasking and guest interactions
Basic computer knowledge for reports & room status updates

9.Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum 12th Pass; Diploma in Hospitality (preferred)
2–4 years of housekeeping experience in hotels
Previous supervisory experience is an added advantage

10.Work Environment:
Rotational shifts
Requires standing, walking, and physical cleaning supervision
